I was contracted to paint a mural for Brix-Mor. The location is Magnolia Plaza in Morganton, NC off exit 103 Interstate 40. The contractor was open to whatever design I came up with, but did mention that he liked trains and the mountains.

I began with a sketch of what I imagined they would like.
I chose to put Flat Rock as the background of the entire piece. Then I added 3 additional images scattered on top of the mountain as if they were photographs.

Once the sky and mountain was complete I moved on to the other pictures: the train, train depot and courthouse.
This is the completed painting. The completed size is approximately 22' x 16'.
